Get to know Kambiz Dirbaz, the most popular actor in this series, based on excerpts from interviews he’s had with journalists, both on ‘A Mother’s Sacrifice’, and other productions he has played a role in.

Asked whether cinema or TV was his favorite, Kambiz says he’s never had a benchmark beyond the screenplay.

Over the 2-3 years leading to the production of the series, Mr. Nematollah’s stories were so appealing to me that I couldn’t think of any other ones. It’d been four years by then, that we had no heroes in our stories. If you examined the films on screens, you’d find some 15 characters who each played a couple of scenes, and built the story puzzle up. But hero-centered stories would ideally meet my taste.

Asked if being people’s favorite actor was because Kambiz is personally close to the characters he plays, he says that’s true. You should not play each and every role that is formulated and planned for you. I don’t think everyone can play every role. It’s not a matter of not doing it, but rather, one of being improper at times. It’s like buying a suit among thousands at a shopping center just selling men’s clothes; only one would probably exactly fit you and be nice on you; most often, it could be your preference to have it tailor-made. That’s how, in my opinion, the role and the actor interact. It’s a matter of taste. My resume’ would reflect that; I can say I’ve chosen all the roles I’ve played so far, with none having been imposed on me. That’s possibly why people think my real self and my roles are similar. I’m probably not like all of them, but wish I would.
